I believe that God created women
to give birth naturally
and without unnecessary medical intervention.

I believe that birth is a natural, normal
function of a woman’s body,
and that it is possible to give birth without drugs
and unnecessary medical procedures.

And I believe that birth can be a positive,
enjoyable and relaxing experience -
one that you can share surrounded by the people you love,
while cared for by people you know and trust.

Natural, home-birth is for low-risk, responsible women.

There are some medical conditions that do contraindicate home birth.  But many things that the medical field considers "risks" are actually statistically proven to be safe – such as VBACs (Vaginal Birth after Cesarean), twins, and some breech positions.  Many times, even with these circumstances it is still a safe option to still deliver at home.

If you are wondering if home-birth is an option for you, or if you want to meet me, discuss my services, or just ask questions, please call or email me.  I will be happy to set up a consultation.

First consultation visits are free of charge, and it is recommended that both mother and father come.

Training and Experience

Being the oldest of 10 children, my life has always been filled with babies.  Seven of my brothers and sisters were born at home with midwives, so birth and  midwives have always been a normal and important part.

In 2004, I began my formal study of midwifery through the Association of Texas Midwives Midwifery Training Program.  Through this program I received my academic training.

For the clinical aspect of my skills, I apprenticed with experienced, certified midwives.  All together in my training, I had the privilege of working under and cross-training with fourteen different midwives at two natural birthing centers, as well as in home-birth practices.

I finished my training in 2007, but because of a full time job as a music teacher, I did not start my own midwifery practice at that time.   Instead, I did births for friends, as well as cover for other midwives from time to time.

But in the year 2009, my midwifery took on new dimensions.

For almost seven months I was able to live in the land of Israel and assist a natural, home-birth Israeli midwife.  This midwife has been delivering babies for over 30 years, and was also instrumental in getting home-birth established, accepted and legalized in Israel.  I really enjoyed working with her, and learned many things from her, and having the privilege to see new life be born in the Promised Land.

Also while in Israel, I had the opportunity to volunteer at an Arabic clinic, as well as in a Jerusalem hospital – both of which were interesting learning experiences – clinically and culturally.

I feel privileged to have trained, assisted and worked with more than twenty midwives from different backgrounds and experiences.  I have also been privileged to have assisted in the deliveries of women from many different cultures - including American, Mexican, English, Russian, Israeli and Palestinian.

I am grateful to God for giving me the awesome privilege of helping to guide new life into the world.  Every time I see a baby born, I get to see a miracle.  How could it get any better than that…?

My husband and I were looking for a midwife that could give us our third homebirth.  Faith Morie was recommended to us, and on our first contact with her we could tell she was a very caring and dedicated person.

I very much enjoyed the gentle care Faith took of me, making her necessary visits with me and my "baby bump" delightful.  Faith also is very knowledgeable of her profession and so even though I would ask strange questions, Faith would have an informed answer.

I had specific desires of how I wanted our birth to be, and although so much is unpredictable, I really felt that I could trust Faith to do all she could to fulfill them.  We had a most amazing birth with Rebecca Marie and I thank God and my midwife, Faith for this!

When I found out I was pregnant, I was uncomfortable with the idea of having my child at a hospital.  A natural, home birth was the only option I really considered.  I wanted an experience with minimal outside interference and a caretaker who would care about the things that were important to my husband and me.

When we found Faith, it was the perfect fit.  She was experienced, knowledgeable, and confident in her ability to safely guide us through the pregnancy and delivery.

I was extremely comfortable with Faith from the beginning. She provided peace of mind about my pregnancy (it was my first), and I loved being able to access her at any time if I had a question or concern.

My labor and delivery was hard, but extremely rewarding.  Faith was firm and supportive the entire way through, and I cannot imagine having a better birth experience.  My husband and I have no doubt that we will be returning to Faith during any future pregnancies.  We highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great, natural home birth experience.
